How These Depth Charts Are Maintained

These charts are maintained by rule, not copied from a single feed. Every team’s rotation is reviewed multiple times a day during the season, and an injury designation only appears on the page after it passes the checks below. The same rules are applied to all 30 teams, on every update, all season.

About This Site — and How to Read the Charts

NBA Depth Charts tracks the rotations of all 30 NBA teams in one place: starters, second and third units, injury status, current-season minutes and games played, and each team’s upcoming first-round draft picks. It is an independent basketball data project, updated daily throughout the season.

FAQ

How often is this updated? Multiple times a day during the season. Injury checks run in the morning, evening, and night, and the minutes columns are rebuilt every night from that day’s box scores.

Where does the injury information come from? The official NBA injury report is the primary source, cross-checked against team reporting and confirmed by box scores — if a player actually took the floor in his last game, he is not listed as hurt here.

Why does a player show “--” for MPG and GP? He has not appeared in a regular-season game yet this season. Those columns count 2026-27 games only; they fill in the night he makes his debut.

What do the arrows next to the draft picks mean? When a team controls more than one possible pick in a year, ↑ marks the most favorable outcome and ↓ the least favorable, based on the protections and swap rights attached to the picks.
